Sticky Zesty Spicy Baked Chicken Wings

Sticky, Salty, Sweet, Spicy & Super Addictive



1 kg Chicken Wings

1/4 cup Corn Starch

1/4 cup Garlic Powder


1 Orange (Zest & Juiced)

1 Thumb knob of Ginger (Sliced)

2 Clove of Garlic (Crushed)

4 Star Anise

1 Cinnamon Stick

1/4 cup Soy Sauce

2 tablespoon of Sugar

2 tablespoon of Oil

Spicy Option – 2 tablespoon of Sriracha Sauce


  1. Mix corn starch and garlic powder in a  bowl and coat chicken wings.  Arrange coated chicken wings on a wire tray and bake for 20mins at 180 degrees or until golden brown.
  2. In a wok, heat oil at medium heat.  Lightly brown garlic then add orange zest, sliced ginger, star anise and cinnamon stick.  Cook until you build up a fragrant then add sugar, soy sauce, Sriracha and juice of orange. Simmer for 5 minutes or until slightly thick.
  3. Add baked chicken wings to wok and toss until wings are evenly coated with sauce. Serve with steam rice, diced cucumbers and tomatoes.
  4. Must eat with fingers!
